The technical ability of early societies increased as expertise was handed down through generations. The spear tip on the left, made from flint stone and known as Vizcachani style, is from the prehistoric period of the Inca civilization. The spear tips on the right show an elaborately worked flint stone tip and a tip from the iron age.
